Located on Fifth Avenue South between Snap Fitness and Fantastic Sams, ViVi Bubble Tea is the first restaurant in St. Cloud specifically devoted to bubble teas.
Bubble tea, also known as "boba," is a drink that originated in Taiwan. It is best known as flavored milk tea with chewy tapioca "bubbles" that float at the bottom of the drink. But as ViVi's menu shows, the drink options go much further.
There are standard iced teas in flavors like peach and passion fruit, slushies and even jasmine lattes. You can fill your teas with things like jelly, pudding and aloe pieces.

Owner Jinlan Lu, said her favorite are the new floats, which she said are creamy and taste like butter beer.
Lu is a recent graduate of St. Cloud State University. She began the process of opening the store her senior year, and said the whole process took about six months. Her main driver? She just wanted to finally have some local bubble tea.
"Before, we'd have to drive all the way to the (Twin) Cities," she said. "The Mall of America had some places, but it just never really..." her voice trailing off. The bubble tea she drove an hour away for never quite hit the spot.
